A Potbelly with a drive-through window? Maybe that's how they build them now, but this was a first for me. In typical Potbelly fashion, the drive-through is so much better than at other restaurants. It's pretty, not filled with industrial-looking plastic bumpers and bashed-up trash cans. Yeah, it takes a minute longer than the one at Taco Bell, but that's because your food is being made the way you asked for it to be made. The people who take your order and your money and give you your food are all remarkably friendly - this must be a fun place to work. And that carries over to the whole experience. You wouldn't think that such a short human interaction would matter, but it really does. These five stars are for you, Potbelly drive-through workers! You're the best. The food itself is no different from any of the other 1,000 Potbelly restaurants in the area. That is, tasty and delicious. The interior is pretty much like every other Potbelly as well - same decor, same feeling of being packed in a can of sardines at lunchtime.

Horrible! Horrible!! Horrible!!! I'm a busy Mom of 3 young children. Sometimes the only dinner my husband and I get to eat is what we can pick up in a drive thru. I placed an online order for our meals, plus my parents meals to be picked up. When we got there at our designated time, nothing was ready. We were told that they had no details on our order (i.e. bread types, toppings, etc.). He asked why we weren't called and was told, "I don't know." I called back to talk to the manager on duty (My husband wouldn't let me go in to talk to the manager since we had two of our children in the car with us, one of which was a crying baby.) and was told I didn't order right (A complete lie!), so they couldn't complete my order. When I asked her why they didn't call for the rest of the order details , she said, "Oh well, we got slammed. We figured we'd just wait till you got here and take your order then." Wonderful! I love it when my time is wasted. So I said to her, "Then why did I bother placing an online order if you were going to make me wait anyway?" Her response was, "I don't know." Oh yeah, to make matters worse, the two sandwiches we ended up getting, which was only half our order, were made wrong eventhough we gave them all of those details when we got there. My parents are allergic to the bread their sandwiches were made with, so they couldn't even eat them. Now, I'm left with four hungry adults, no food, and no time left because it's bedtime for the kids. Guess we're not getting dinner tonight. Potbelly, if you continue hiring people like this, you will go out of business. This place is horrible!!!

I only came here because my preferred sandwich place, Subway, was farther away. I got a tasteless roast beef sandwich with mayo, tomatoes, lettuce and onion. How do they take so many ingredients and divest it of flavor? The barbecue chips were like poker chips sprayed with a flavoring. The coleslaw was good but the portion is tiny. This place is empty after lunch so you can get your order quickly, although the PM staff were all trainees who didn't know what they were doing. The atmosphere is cheap fast food decor. The other people in Potbelly were sitting around playing cards. It's not a place that makes you want to hang out. Your best bet is to get your food to go (they have a drive up window) and eat it someplace nicer. At least it was cheap. The full size RB sandwich, chips & slaw came to under $10.

4 stars for having a drive thru! I hate sandwich places cause for the very reason of having to exit my car so this works out great with my lazyness level and especially if I'm by myself.Yes I'm a grown woman that doesnt like to go in places and eat by myself so what.

I love the sandwiches here. The employees are friendly and helpful with no attitude. The sandwich just makes me feel like I am in heaven. Yum-o!

I did the drive through. Grabbing a sandwich at this location used to be such a refreshing and delicious experience, but my last visit I felt like a big ol' potbelly pig galumphing up to the drive thru window, waiting for them to fill my trough with the daily slop. Now there isn't much to comment on regarding customer service (which seems to be the common compliant) because it was a-ok, but the sandwich and banana malt I ordered were subpar to say the least. I have no idea what has changed since my last visit, but the tuna salad sandwich was totally different. No flavor. What did they do, bust out the can opener when they got my order to open a thing of StarKist? Slather the contents all over my flimsy cheap tasting wheat bread? You can't just do that, slap some cheese on there and call it an afternoon! As for the shake... I workout intensively and so when I decide to ruin a workout, I do it properly: Banana, peanut butter, malt, period. Minus the peanut butter, this is the shake I ordered that day. What I received was a vanilla shake with a very unripe banana blended into it. No malt. By the time I realized how crappy my shake was, I was 10 miles down the highway. Fast food is having me more and more convinced that I should spend less money on it, more on wine and that I should make my lunch at home. To you Potbelly I give 3 stars. One for customer service, one for cleanliness, and one because of Christmas. To your food I say if you will please pardon my language, oink.

Sigh. I've liked Potbelly for a long time - I've always thought there was a certain charm about them even though they are a chain. The food was always pretty good. Sadly, I feel like Potbelly has gone down in quality in the last year. At this particular location, I've experience some pretty awful service. If you use the drive through, it seems everything happens very quickly. However, if you decide to go in and sit down to eat - expect it to take much longer. That doesn't seem fair, does it? Perhaps they need to increase their staffing during peak times to account for both the drive through and inside? Also, the singer who was there the last time I visited was butchering the Beatles - with an out of tune guitar. Bad, just bad. Sadly, the worst part is the food. I feel like Potbelly used to have quality bread. Not anymore. The sandwiches seem to come out soggy and tasteless. Seriously, the last few sandwiches I had were bland, bland, bland. (There were meatball and chicken/cheddar sandwiches). Not to mention some bad menu changes. Why isn't the pb&j listed anymore (by far their best sandwich)? I really blame the decline on the bread quality, it is just not as good as it once was. If you want a good sandwich in the area, go to Shane's Deli in downtown Wheaton or Bricks in downtown Lombard. Both make much higher quality sandwiches (and have better service.)

As good as any other potbellys in the area in the quality department, and its always empty so we can get right in and out with no delay. The only other traffic is generated by the fast moving driive thru

I get lunch here when working in Lombard. Good sandwiches and good selection of combinations.

Big fan of potbelly as I started going in the 90's when it was a single store in downtown Chicago on Lincoln avenue. Glad to have one in Glen Ellyn and much better as i don't have to wait in line very long to get my sandwich. This location is conveniently located, clean and has friendly service. I often meet people there for business lunches as it's not too loud and very comfortable. Try the new Turkey and Bacon Cheddar sandwich on Flatbread. You won't be disappointed!
